Brief Introduction of Dalian Fisheries University

Dalian Fisheries University (DFU) is the only fisheries university in the northern China, integrated with disciplines of science, engineering, agriculture, management and arts. There are various educational qualifications available---master’s degree, bachelor’s degree and associate degree. DFU is located in the picturesque seaside of Dalian city. The campus is built at the foot of a hill, surrounded by lawns and trees and offering panoramic views of the nearby coast.

Founded in 1952, DFU covers 690,000 square meters of land and 667,000 square meters of sea. It has ten colleges: College of Biological Science and Technology, College of Oceanic Engineering, College of Mechanical Engineering, College of Civil Engineering, College of Informational Engineering, College of Economic Management, College of Science, College of Commercial Information, College of Vocational Technology and College of Adult Education. Two faculties: Faculty of Postgraduates, and Faculty of International Students. And three departments: Department of Food Engineering , Department of Foreign Languages and Department of Humanities and Law. DFU also has the authority to grant 10 master’s degrees of Aquaculture, Fishing, Biological Environment and Energy Engineering of Agriculture, Aquatic Product Processing and Preserving Engineering, Hydrobiology, Port、Coast and Alongshore Engineering, Creature genetic breeding and Increasing, Creature nutrition and Feedstuff Science ,Halobios and Fisheries Resources. Besides, it can grant 30 baccalaureate degrees and 27 associate degrees. There are over 10,000 students in various categories. The faculty members are highly qualified and some academic staff have earned good reputation for their great achievements in teaching and scientific research. DFU enjoys significant interaction with overseas institutions. It has developed formal links with the following more than 20 institutions around the world, such as University of Washington, University of Paisley, Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology, Australian Maritime College, Korea PukYong National University and so on.
